Uhhhh, Gus, not sure. Somebody who wants to drill off the coast of California and Florida and somebody who has a VP candidate that wants to drill in Alaska. That's who gets my vote.

I tell you one thing,......... I'd be mighty scared if something happened to the Pres and the vice pres took over and was a "maverick hockey mom". Considering McCains age and the "mom", I have no choice on who to vote for, whether I like him or not.
Just my two cents, or maybe only one cent.

So if you or anyone doesn't like McCain or Palin and you'll vote for Barry Obama, are you aware of the following. Read, rather interesting. If one is open minded and reads this, at least you can start asking some questions...and you'll find out who Barry Obama is. Credited properly at the conclusion. Around 1979 Obama started college at Occidental in California. He is very open about his two years at Occidental; he tried all kinds of drugs and was wasting his time but, even though he had a brilliant mind, did not apply himself to his studies. "Barry" (that was the name he used all his life) during this time had two roommates, Muhammad Hasan Chandoo and Wahid Hamid, both from Pakistan. During the summer of 1981, after his second year in college, he made a "round the world" trip. Stopping to see his mother in Indonesia, next Hyderabad in India, three weeks in Karachi , Pakistan where he stayed with his roommate's family, then off to Africa to visit his father's family. My question - Where did he get the money for this trip? Neither I, nor any one of my children would have had money for a trip like this when they were in college. When he came back he started school at Columbia University in New York. It is at this time he wants everyone to call him Barack - not Barry. Do you know what the tuition is at Columbia? It's not cheap to say the least. Where did he get money for tuition? Student Loans… Maybe. After Columbia, he went to Chicago to work as a Community Organizer for $12,000 a year. Why Chicago? Why not New York? He was already living in New York. By "chance" he met Antoin "Tony" Rezko, born in Aleppo Syria, and a real estate developer in Chicago. Rezko has been convicted of fraud and bribery this year. Rezko, was named "Entrepreneur of the Decade" by the Arab-American Business and Professional Association". About two years later, Obama entered Harvard Law School. Do you have any idea what tuition is for Harvard Law School? Where did he get the money for Law School? More student loans? After Law school, he went back to Chicago. Rezko offered him a job, which he turned down. But, he did take a job with Davis, Miner, Barnhill & Galland. Guess what? They represented "Rezar" which is Rezko's firm. Rezko was one of Obama's first major financial contributors when he ran for office in Chicago. In 2003, Rezko threw an early fundraiser for Obama which Chicago Tribune reporter David Mendelland claims was instrumental in providing Obama with "seed money" for his U.S. Senate race. In 2005, Obama purchased a new home in Kenwoood District of Chicago for $1.65 million (less than asking price). With ALL those Student Loans - Where did he get the money for the property? On the same day Rezko's wife, Rita, purchased the adjoining empty lot for full price. The London Times reported that Nadhmi Auchi, an Iraqi-born Billionaire loaned Rezko $3.5 million three weeks before Obama's new home was purchased. Obama met Nadhmi Auchi many times with Rezko. Now, we have Obama running for President. Valerie Jarrett, was Michele Obama's boss. She is now Obama's chief advisor and he does not make any major decisions without talking to her first. Where was Jarrett born? Ready for this… Shiraz, Iran! Do we see a pattern here? Or am I going crazy? On May 10, 2008 The Times reported, Robert Malley advisor to Obama was "sacked" after the press found out he was having regular contacts with "Hamas", which controls Gaza and is connected with Iran. This past week, buried in the back part of the papers, Iraqi newspapers reported that during Obama's visit to Iraq, he asked their leaders to do nothing about the war until after he is elected, and he will "Take care of things". Oh, and by the way, remember the college roommates that were born in Pakistan? They are in charge of all those "small" Internet campaign contribution for Obama. Where is that money coming from? The poor and middle class in this country? Or could it be from the Middle East? And the final bit of news. On September 7, 2008, The Washington Times posted a verbal slip that was made on "This Week" with George Stephanapoulos. Obama on talking about his religion said, "My Muslim faith". When questioned, "He made a mistake". Some mistake! All of the above information I got on line. If you would like to check it - Wikipedia, encyclopedia, Barack Obama; Tony Rezko; Valerie Jarrett: Daily Times - Obama visited Pakistan in 1981; The Washington Times - September 7, 2008; The Times May 10, 2008. Now the BIG question - If I found out all this information on my own, Why haven't all of our "intelligent" members of the press been reporting this? A phrase that keeps ringing in my ear - "Beware of the enemy from within"!!![/quote] Credited post to Timberspin at www.fishwrench.com

Little did we notice with gas going down that October 1 we were hit with another gas tax increase invoked by the Democrats in Minnesota.
April 1 was the first increase. To date if you use 40 gallons of gas per week based on vehicle and boat (some use less, some use more), this is what it has cost you.
April 1 through September 30: $20.80 October 1 through October 31: $5.40 Additional gas tax overall to date: $26.20
If we take that same number over a years period now with the additional gas tax the bill is $104 for the year.
No big deal right? $104, you don't even notice it. Exactly how the government wants you to notice it, or should I say not notice it.
Let's look at the big picture though.
Using the state gas tax along with the federal gas tax at 40 gallons per week you pay $903 per year in gas taxes.
I think for anyone with a boat and you drive to work and run kids around 40 gallons is low.
One can certainly argue that this is needed to maintain roads.
I argue that the additional $104 on the new gas tax is not needed.
Ask yourself this. April 1, 2009 a government agent knocks on your door and says, "Sir, I have a check made out to you for $104. It is yours to keep or you can donate it to the state highway fund. Sir, it's your choice, no strings attached."
What's your answer? If you answered I'll take the check for myself, then you obviously agree that this increase in gas tax is the wrong thing.
Most if not all would take the check and don't kid yourself. Heck, it's an entry into an excel singles event.
Democrats got the gas tax increase done even through a Governor veto.

Because anyone can type anything on the Internet, it does not take intelligence, just time. Not to say that this amazing information is not correct...but perhaps slight edits for better reading. This in no way represents my choice in a president, hoping for a new candidate to show up soon.
While we made this post go 4 pages, it really fell on this one.

It's been almost a month since a post was put under this ever changing topic. $1.65 for gas in the Brainerd area and cheaper in other places of the state. That's great. Of course the stock market had to crash along with the price of a barrel of oil. Sales Tax in this state is 0% on clothing and food because they are "essentials", but that will be pushed to change in 2009. Anyway, wasn't aware that gas wasn't essential. Everything else is 6.5% state sales tax. At $1.65 per gallon, the tax rate on your gas is 26.7%. 26.7%! Without any tax at $1.65 the price would be $1.21 per gallon. 44 cents in tax. Think those evil oil companies are making 44 cents per gallon. Zero chance. Enjoy the low prices because they are going to shift within the next couple of months. OPEC has had enough of not making enough money and they are starting to cut supply. Wish we had our own supply
