Heading down to Tablerock this evening for some speed runs and some winter fishing.. Very much looking forward to being back in the boat on soft water again... I'll be thinking of you guys up here staring at open water in an 8 or 10 inch hole... ;D

Well, on Wednesday when we got there it was a nice day, probably 40's and sunny, worked on the boat, went through the lower unit and did all of the filters in the engine, along with a good cleaning of the injectors, also found that I had forgotten to charge the batteries after the last Iron Man tourney and discovered my trolling motors batteries to be a little bulged.... So, didn't feel like buying any other batteries and just decided to leave them for ballast.. Thursday was great, 65 and sunny, no wind to speak of.. Would have been a perfect day to cruise the lake but the trim motor stopped working so at about 2 pm, my fun running was over, then I loaned my lower unit to another guy that was there from Texas and he finished up the day putting down some really good numbers.. Friday was cooler low 50's and windy plus very humid the running wasn't very good, and a few parts were broken on some other boats good day tho, did some R&D testing and wow... Saturday brought on the begining of the cold front with teens in the morning and up to 33 in the afternoon. I was the only one at the landing at 8:30 that morning and the only one running until about 10:30 or so, put up some very chilly numbers at 17 degrees.. So the in the long run, I was on open water, and never fished.. Did talk with a couple guys that live down there and guide on Table Rock, they said with the weather doing what it had, it wasn't ideal for fishing anyway.. They promised me a fishing trip in a couple months when I head back down.. The big ice storm hit after we got back, so made it out just in time... They ended up with about 3 inches of ice on pretty much everything where I was but I'm sure it's about gone by now.. They may miss out on the big snows and the below zero temps, but those ice storms they get from time to time sure are destructive...

When are you going back down? I am going to be on "the Rock" from April 1 through the 12th. Are you going to be there at that time? Arnie

Both. My wife wants to get away for awhile and we like to go to Branson. I fish all day and she shops. We go out to eat and take in a show in the evenings. There is an ABA tourney on Table Rock on April 11. We are going to leave here on the 29th and arrive there on the 1st so I will get to fish for 9 days before the tourney. Lets keep in touch. Arnie

That's cool... Sounds like a fair trade, she gets to shop, and you go fishing... I'll keep ya posted when the time comes closer.. I'll check with a couple friends down there to see if they are fishing the ABA or not, if not, I'll try to hook you up with some extra spots.. They both have guided on the lake for 30 plus years and are real "in tune" with the secret brush piles they have both made among other structure stuff that is there...
