Hey guys...I've been doing allot of fishing down here and most of it is pitch'n or flip'n. I noticed yesterday my partner(Andy Anderson) was using left handed reels so he didn't have to exchange hands after each cast. This caused me to think...should I try to learn to pitch with my left hand or would it be easier to learn to reel with my left hand??? I tied pitch'n with my left hand but it feels unnatural and will take a longtime to get the accuracy down.
Another reason for thinking about learning to reel with my left hand is when I'm fishing docks with a spinning reel....I can move the handle back over to the left once I get the hang of reeling with my left hand.
Are you a lefty or a righty?? Why??

Funny that you mention / noticed that... This year fishing the team tourneys with Foster, he noticed that I flipped with my left hand and didn't have to switch hands to begin to reel in.. ( I'm naturally left handed).... He began to practice doing the same and within a few weeks of doing so we were pre-fishing and he says, "notice me doing anything different".. I watched him for a bit and said "nope", he then told me the story... I think being able to flip or pitch with either hand is an advantage because you don't have to jostle around to hit different targets if the boat position isn't just right.. Practice, it won't take long to get it..

Mom allways told me, if your right handed..... "The left hand is for wipeing, the right hand is for jerking". If you hook a big bass in the thick rice, do you want to hit him with your wipe hand? I don't think so. You have more power, and sensitivity with your jerking hand, and if the fish hits it immediately, your not jerking around switching hands...... No brainer. If your left handed, you should just kill yourself.

Old Dude ,
Sounds like your right hand is alot stronger than your left . My Grandpa told me that if you jerked it to much you would go blind .So be careful ;D You should be easy to spot . Really big right arm and thick glasses .
Must be Winter in Mn
