Just a few months ago one person suggested that in order to post something on this board, you need to be registered and logged in. That was shot down.
I'm bringing it up again to be either reconsidered or shot down. Here are my reasons that this be reconsidered.
1. It takes longer to post a message as guest than it does to log in. When posting a message as guest, you have to type in the squiggly secret code and sometimes you may not get it right. Takes less time to log in your username and password.
2. With that said, if you want to make the argument that it is equal in time, fine. So if there is no difference in time, why log in as guest. Very simple. The person doesn't want his or her postings tracked. What other reason would there be.
3. Oh yes, the most important reason, the person doesn't want anyone to know who he/she is. Not only do they not want it tracked to a server/area of the state or country, but they also don't want to take the chance of using a username that somebody might identify them with.
Yes there are some who log in as guest who straight up state who they are such as Rick. Then there are those who log in as guest and hide behind their keyboard and can post anything without ever having the fear of the post being identified.
It's time to require a log in.

BECAUSE IT"S FUN TO MESS WITH PEOPLE SOMETIMES TO GET THE BOARD ROLLIN'
In the majority of the posts posted by "guest" there is no harm intended... On a couple occasions that isn't true, but based on those rare occasions the right to post as guest shouldn't be threatened.... ;D
Easy Bill... Now, had you showed up to the Excel Christmas party, I would have bought you a beer....
Cheers old boy...

Dear Bill,
Happy Holidays! Sorry to hear that you are going to miss a Vikes game. Do you think the Vikes will be able to make it without you? Maybe you should have a drawing or a raffle to see who can be the nicest to you and give the tickets to that person?? Sound good...
Anyway - back to the point of signing in - it is fun both ways - I just like to do it this way because it gets your goat.
Love, Infamous Guest

Interesting...three different guest posts...(now there's two..had to delete one)...three different IP addresses....from WI, MN, AL No plans to make anyone log in. We now have three moderators to catch anything that may be offensive or aggressive against anyone's post , person or other. No real way to track anyone even if you had to signed-in. One could sign-in change your name on your profile then post then change it back. With IP masking software...nobody would every know who or where you are by your IP address. Play nice guys ;D Joel

What did I miss, must have been something good.
Your board Joel, just wanted to bring it up again.
The Vikes will be fine without me. Hopefully it's a game where they can rest their players as a result of already clinching a division.
It's fun huh. Ok. If guest says so.

Interesting, now you must log in to use. This is not a complaint as to having to log in. If possible, maybe just force log ins for posts, that way others can still view the board and catch up with what is going on.

This is not an option with this form of board that we use. We are working on a new message board. We dont like the fact that we can not read the posts without signing in. We will keep you guys up to date.

EXCEL POSTERS:
We have worked extremely hard in getting corporate sponsors that can access this board. We would hate to lose any of them by some of the recent posts. There was not a specific person that had a decision in changing this forum. The new forum has more features, more abilities for users, and this took a lot of thinking and work to create the new forum.
Food for thought: Would you want your corporate business linked to some of this nonsense?

Well, that's too bad cause the whole Janet Jackson / Justin Timberlake thing was pretty darn funny... Well the Janet Jackson thing was overboard, but the person that did the Justin Timberlake comeback was spot on!! And funny to boot....

I use the same proboad as Joel and you can restrict at any level you wish. You can also use it for different levels of an organization or multile organizations. An example would be a board of directors section heck even setting up a spot for walleye guys to talk about excercises for holding a rod in one position. Dont' sell your board short. With that said, I look forward to your changes as many more positives is like money in the bank.
