Ask for the money up front. If they don't have, remind them that it costs you a lot to run a boat and that co-angler need to pitch in. If they have no money they WILL be fishing dead water all day.

Cizek, thanks for reminding me. You stiffed me on gas last year. 60 bucks ought to cover it. I'll take some elk meat for a down payment. And my shovel.

As soon as I saw a reply from Cizek, I was pretty sure he would be beating me down.
Here are some recent posts that maybe just might be what you are looking for.
In the special fishing pull out section, Lindy Frasl is featured in an article written by Dennis Anderson in Sunday's Star Tribune. I don't have the link for it, but I'm sure you can find it or run out and grab a Sunday edition.
Good job Lindy. Pretty cool photo too.
I will have up to 40 cards good for a free six inch at the Subway in Nisswa at the Gull Lake tournament.
Also, the Subway Scrabble game is going on right now. You get a game piece on the sandwich wrap and the drink cup. Lots of free stuff on those game pieces and if you collect the right letters, you could win some very cool stuff. Please don't be afraid to buy a drink when you redeem your freebie.
As always, I appreciate your business.
Looks real good so far. In reference to Bob looking for feedback for his online store.
Congratulations to Excel anglers Bob Perkins, Tom Petron and Gregg Peterson for finishing in the top 8 for the year and qualifying for the national tournament. Winner at the national tournament fishes the Classic. Good luck guys!
I hope you feel much more positive now. I just grabbed a few for your entertainment purposes Cizek.
I have another positive post that I forgot to post several weeks ago, so that will also go up now.

As for the other comments, thanks. I had always just gotten the gas money at the end and in 2006 and 2007 in the BASS series, it wasn't an issue.
Now that I know there are a few who are getting it up front, that helps and I appreciate those comments.
That appears to be positive, certainly not negative.
Now hustle that $60 to Severson...oooops. Negative again.

Whomever me is, so I should get the money up front? Is that what you mean by listen. I doubt that was the intent of the message.

I fished with a good friend on Saturday. This is usually someone I fish against in our bass club and a few Excel events year after year. In fact, it was the first time I was on his boat. Throughout the day we drank and munched from the well-packed cooler I brought along. At the end of the day, I handed him a $40 dollar bill (you can only find them on the printer in my basement) and he gave me $20 back. He appreciated the gesture, but only took what he thought was fair. Granted, this wasn't a tournament, but the same applies. I showed my appreciation for his driving from Coon Rapids to Clearwater, and running me around the lake. He appreciated my gesture of payment, and only took what he thought was fair. It was almost like back-scratching. The moral of the story? Show your appreciation to your host, whether it's a tournament, or just the guys out fishing. Second moral of the story, be nice to Bill. Yes, he can be a bit opinionated, but without him this and other boards would be a whole lot less entertaining.

Had a co-angler on Sunday from Missouri. He gave me $100 bill and asked if I had change. I said I did and he said keep what you want for gas money. That was even before we launched the boat. Nice touch and cred goes out to Dan from St. Louis, Missouri.
