Just curious if others have old lures that can no longer be purchased (discontinued manufacturing) that they still use to catch fish. I still use my favorite bait, the timberspin. Strike King used to make them but they are no longer available. Great slop bait and also good around reeds used like a buzz bait.

Years ago, I bought the last bunch of Bagleys "Grass Rats". They quit making them years ago but they had a few left in the back room. They are a floating plug made of balsam wood with a big hook and skirt. One of the best lures for layover emergent rice....plus you can cast them a country mile! Below is a pic...mine are yellow.

I used to use the "Grass Rat" and had fair luck with it. A great bait for someone who doesn't fish much as it's almost impossible to hang up. I may have a few left in an old tackle box. The timberspin is a metal sthingy similar to the "jaw breaker" but wider. It's actually a "timberking" sthingy with an inline spinner attached to the front. The blade action is fantastic in moderate slop conditions.
