We are considering raising the entry fee to help pay down another two maybe three spots As you know the payout only goes down to a max. of 4 places from 24+
I am thinking of increasing the entry from $70 to $100. This would sweeten the paybacks to help offset the increased cost to play. This would be the first increase ever for the singles circuit.
Thoughts??

I say go for it . I know alot of anglers fishing would like to see payback down to six or seven spots . I am personally for It and I could list a long list of names that are also for it .I dont think $30 will deture anyone from fishing , maybe I'm wrong . I think it might bring more guys into the mix.

I just posted something on the side pots. If you increase the entry fees, then my suggestion is do so and include big bass in the pot. That way the entry fee will allow more places to be paid down to and everyone will be in the big bass pot.
Of the $30 additional entry fee, maybe you take $7 to $10 for big bass and put it into that pot. Maybe it's only $5 that goes into the big bass pot so that more places can be paid down.
I think if you raise the entry fee, you are probably going to be fine. Including the big bass in there will create less work for you during tournament day and keeping track of who is in the big bass pot and who isn't.

I agree with you Bill. An extra $30.00 will not break the bank. After spending $100.00 per day x 7 for boat gas on Kentucky Lake the $30.00 is cheap. Arnie BTY Congratulations to all those that made the cut.

I agree with Bill, throw the big bass pot in with the increase. With the economy the way it is (and the taxes they government is going to hand us ) the $30 may be too rich for some. However, the further paydown would help to off set that. Only 7 months until Pokegama!!!

;D I am all for the $100 entry been looking for this for a while. I would leave big bass out of the entry fee and leave it up to each individual along with the big bucks. Every increase in the entry fee with loose a angler or two but for the extra $30 or five tournaments shouldn't break the bank. The extra pay out spots will be nice.

Joel - what will be the new payout matrix with the $100 entry fees?

The extra payout spots will be nice. That may just offset hurting entries as a result of increased entry fees.
Do consider this though, the extra $30 and 2 tournaments is almost the equivalent to entering a 2008 tournament.
I'm for it and happy about the change.
