I hope this doesn't get to two pages...gezzz I was just posting the tentative schedule. Lakes and dates always get jockeyed around this time of year. The CC event for Whitefish would be on a Friday thus the weekend permit restrictions may not apply anyway. ..so it should be no big deal.... Unless having two events within two days is an issue..I don't know....well see what the DNR decides but ours is a go for Sunday. I normally don't read long posts...but I just read Bill's...I think he's on to something... a holiday series...hummm has a nice ring to it. I'll consider putting it in the mix for 2010 Thanks Bill! Actually...with all the tournaments and so few week-ends why not schedule events on holiday weekends if you can. This only helps avoid conflicts with other events. A full field doesn't mean the event wasn't a great or successful event. As long as everyone that competed, regardless of the number, enjoyed their experience and no one got hurt..to me that is a successful event.

See guest, I'm an asset to the message board. Might have just formed a new circuit next year. I'm sure you'd like to take the "et" off of asset.

Don't need the permission Smitty, but thanks for the helping hand. Although only going 39 mph ;D on Tonka, I think something did happen, but then again Joel seems to think it might be a good idea.

Gonefishin, Steve did change the weekend, so I think that is the wrinkle. He sent me an e-mail and copied Randy Hayes and Steve Karseboom on it that they better look into quickly. Based on that read, there is some concern on their part.
For those that don't know, Steve will still be involved, but Extream is going to run it. He's tired of waiting around all day and wants to fish.

I knew about the director change. The weekend change happens when the calendar moves, so every 6 years, it jumps a week. Now we know why Steve goes out on the water on tournament days. SPY!!!!

I just have a couple question, I am new to the area, was checking out your board to see what your schedule looks like for the 2009 season, was very interested in fishing your tournaments. I see all the hype about this tournament that is on Whitefish, I see that there may possibly be an event that is scheduled the same weekend of another event. How big is this Skeeter event that you are talking about and will it really cause a conflict for your Excel tournament on Sunday that is the same week? And how many people actually would fish the Skeeter event and then turn around and fish the Whitefish Excel tournament, or maybe not even fish the Skeeter event but just the Excel event?

Last year the Skeeter tournament was way down. Steve thinks it was because of gas prices. I know some guys had conflicts that were unrelated to fishing.
It's $625 per team to enter. I think he had 38 boats last year. Typically he is around 54 to 62 boats.
Highly unlikely that somebody who is going to fish the Skeeter would opt out of that to fish just the excel event. It certainly is possible that some guys who normally wouldn't fish the excel event and are fishing the Skeeter, would stick around another night and fish the excel event. They are up here anyway and they might take a shot at it, especially being they were just on the same lake 2 days before.
Then there are guys like myself and probably several more who post on this board that will fish the Skeeter and the Excel event.
The only conflict is going to come with the permits.
Hope that helps answer your question.
