Hey guys ,
Funny story for you about the Big Bass Bonanza on Mille Lacs lake .
My original intention was to get Joel over there and fish the tourny with me , so he could see how good of a fishery it was . Prefishing was great and I think Joel was actually thinking about going over there.( 3-5 lbers with good weather) Sunday the fishing was still good but the weather was not. As we left Isle bay and plowed our way through the 4-7 ft seas ,I asked Joel if he was ever going to come over there for a tournament and I quote ( NO F####cking way)
We did make it back in one peice and wound up a couple places out of the money . Oh well I'll have to find another lake for us to go to.
Maybe the St. Louis River & Lake Superior!!!!

I knew I was in trouble when Jim yelled at me after we just took a 7 footer over the bow......."did you remember to tell your Wife you loved her?"!!! No fing way is a under statement. My back and balls will never be the same again kudos to Captain Jim....he got us back with only slight injury, soaked to the bone...and a box full of fish!! Who knows.....09 Mille Lacs may be on the schedule...I want you guys to experience the fun we had coming back in those seas ;D Gotta go now and ice down my nads...

I remember somebody on this message board saying why go to Mille Lacs for a tournament when you might have to deal with what you guys dealt with.
That person got ripped for not wanting to fish in the "wind."

Bill , if that story was a little to scary for you let me know and I'll bring you a glass of warm milk to help you settle down .
Jees Bill . I would still love to have a tournament on that lake . Mother nature just throws you a curve ball and you have to deal with it . If you dont drive like an idiot you can go through just about anything with out breaking stuff .
Fish hard or stay home
At the bass series on vermillion some of the guys that fished the east end had to contend with waves that size also . don't matter which lake you are on you have to deal with the wind .

That's too funny!!! A good read.. Even better was hearing the story first hand from Jim!!! Crappy part about Mille Lacs is it's a big bowl, I'd still be in for a tourney out there tho..

Have some balls and put your name on a post like that rather than hiding behind "guest."
People can spout anything they want behind the username "guest."
You may disagree with things I say or think, but I don't hide behind guest. If I'm going to post something, not everyone will like it and I may get comments from "guest" or some username that you have no clue who it is, but I still post it under my name.
Calling me a p***y and you can't even put your name behind it. If you want to blast me, then get some gonads and show your name. Maybe before knowing who guest is, I have spoken with you and had conversation with you and think you're a good guy, maybe that's why you don't put your name behind it. Or maybe I think you are a dink already and it doesn't really matter.
Either way, I get a real kick out of these posts that hide behind guest or some username that you'd never figure out who they are. Brian Brown has called me out on things that he disagrees with me on as well as Jim Smith. At least they have balls to let everyone know who's making the post.
Back to the point, didn't know it was a requirement to fish and fish tournaments on lakes you don't want to mess with. As Tuma said he's in, but acknowledges the thing is a freaking bowl. Might create some problems. Not every guy who fishes excel events has a 20 foot boat either, we aren't talking Elite Series or FLW for gods sake.
Regarding Smith's comment about Vermilion, I speared waves that day, wasn't afraid. Here's the difference, if you want to catch a little relief on Vermilion and many other lakes, you can. Mille Lacs and 30 mph winds, I'm sure you can duck out somewhere, but you might load the boat with water before you do. Simply not my idea of fun when you only have 4 months of fishing in this state.

Ok, that "pu$$y" comment was a little over the top.. There is no need to call him that.. Simply put, if you don't want to fish a certain body of water, then don't.. Nothing will get in a guys head faster than knowing he's on a lake or river that he's not comfortable with.. For me its the Mississippi up here, I can have a great pre-fish, but come tourney time, I get a case of the "dee de dee's".... To further stand up for Bill, he is a credit to the sport, he goes the extra mile, is involved in more, and stirrs the pot more than the average guy, yeah, some of his ideas are a bit extreme, but everybody is entitled to their own opinion, plus he gets a guy or gal thinking about what is actually going on out there... Every event I've fished against Bill at, he has gone out of his way to say good morning, and good luck to as many people as he can, always shows up with a smile on his face and competes against some of the states best anglers usually doing pretty darn well... I'm going to go a little further and say that he probably fishes to have fun... So "guest, guest" why do you fish??? When you quit having fun fishing, it becomes work, when work doesn't pay, it sucks and you get a bad attitude.. Besides, I believe Joel can find out who someone is by their IP address.. ;D

Dear "guest":
I've got to agree with everyone else. It's OK to be a guest and just be a reader. It's even OK to sometimes make a comment as a guest. However, taking a personal shot at someone anonymously lacks not only guts, but class.
There have been numerous posts with differing opinions. We're all big boys here, so if you feel strongly about something don't be afraid to sign it.

Joel, Why don't you use your administrative rights and show the IP address for this guest...you see with computers everyone has an identity... Also, it would be a shame to allow guests from making a comment, however, all this would stop immediately and thus only registered members could reply. In the long run, that is what I would recommend...

Joel is in a pickle if he shows that IP address and can figure out who it is. If it is somebody who fishes his circuit regularly, he may lose an angler. Maybe it happens to be a friend of is, doesn't mean he agrees or disagrees with "guests" comments.
I am curious to know however if guest will be disclosed. I am also curious Joel if you are going to take up Bob's suggestion, posts by signed in members only.

The later is the best route, showing an IP will only idetify their ISP or if they have a static...it would disclose the individual. Best to cut to the chase and lock posts unless you are a member. If he lost this angler it would be not be bad all things considered as trix are for kids.
